WEDDING IN A WEEK

When biker Shane was riding home from picking up an engagement ring for his girlfriend Tracy last summer, he was not expecting to get caught up in a life-changing accident. With help from the Emergency Services and hospital staff, the ring was hidden and kept safe until Shane was able to pop the question.

However, Doctors discovered that Shane would need major surgery for his damaged spinal nerve, which could leave him a quadriplegic – it now became a race against time for the couple to make it down the aisle in just a week…

After hearing Shane and Tracy’s amazing story, Pirate FM’s breakfast show and their listeners sprang into action. Alongside the generosity of dozens of local people and businesses, Trenderway offered to host the event, and our staff offered their time for free. We contacted our regular suppliers, such as John Green Dynamic Entertainments and Chanbury’s Woodfired Italian Pizza’s, who also offered their time and services for the cause. Trenderway then liaised with the local registry office, explaining the exceptional circumstances, to make the ceremony happen at such short notice.

Shane and Tracy’s Trenderway Wedding was a success, and they were able to exchange their nuptials before the surgery.
